Borden Waste-Away Using Groundbreaking iNTELLIDRIVE Regenerative Braking
Technology; Sees Lower Maintenance, Fuel Cost and Positive Impact on Environment

Elkhart, IN (June, 2016) — Elkhart, Indiana based company, Borden Waste-Away Service, Inc., has begun piloting the iNTELLIDRIVE system, from Stored Energy Solutions, in their residential waste collection trucks.
iNTELLIDRIVE is a stand-alone hydraulic drive train assist system ideal for heavy vehicles that operate in short, successive stop-and-start cycles. Since much of Borden’s customer base includes neighborhoods with several streets and cul-de-sacs, this type of technology is ideal. Kinetic energy created through braking is converted to potential energy. This energy then provides a boost to the vehicle and reduces high engine loads during the acceleration process, increasing efficiency and decreasing fuel consumption. Conversely, during deceleration, reduced torque is required on the brakes, thus increasing brake life.
