What is a Fuel/Compliance Surcharge?

As our website assures, Waste-Away Group is committed to providing quality service at the best possible value. Since trucking and hauling is the main focus of our business, fuel charges and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance are large components of our cost of doing business.

Waste-Away Group’s Fuel/Compliance Surcharge covers more than just the cost of fuel. The cost to maintain fuel systems in our trucks in accordance with state and federal guidelines is also a substantial part of our company’s costs.

We utilize the US Department of Energy Midwest Region diesel price index to figure our adjustment percentage. As you can see, our Fuel/Compliance Surcharge is well below the industry standard.

In September of 2014, a barrell of crude oil cost about $100.00. Businesses like airlines, transportation services, and delivery companies all felt the crunch of higher fuel prices. Then in January of last year, a barrel of crude oil fell to about $48.00.

While unleaded gasoline prices seem to be continuing to drop, or at least fluctuate substantially lower than in the past 6 or 7 years, diesel remains noticeably higher.

Although some companies who rely on diesel for such things as trucking and delivery pass significant savings on to consumers, some do not.

A fuel surcharge, in itself, can be for things in addition to just the fuel to fill vehicles. The transportation industry must adhere to strict EPA standards for fuel and exhaust systems in their service vehicles.

The fuel surcharge not only helps companies keep up with rigid standards and technologies required by the EPA and other organizations that govern air emissions from our vehicles.

As much as we can, we try to keep prices competitive and our services an excellent value for our customers. Keeping our fleet in compliance with EPA standards and out on the road helps us to provide efficient service.

  2. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
